About the Agriculture Sector Modernization Project (ASMP)
The Agriculture Sector Modernization Project (ASMP) is a national initiative implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture of Sri Lanka with financial support from the World Bank and the European Union. The project was designed to modernize the country’s agricultural sector by promoting innovation, productivity, and market-oriented farming.
ASMP focuses on supporting smallholder farmers and agribusiness organizations to transition from traditional practices to modern, technology-driven agriculture. The project has been implemented across multiple provinces and districts, benefiting thousands of farming communities.
